Monaco, Monaco

Thursday, June 14th, 2018. Nice was nothing but kind to Katherine and I. It gave us beautiful oceans, new friends, and good food. It is definitely a place I am determined to visit again. During our stay in Nice, we ended up taking to train and doing a day trip to Monaco twice. Both visits were complete opposites but equally as amazing. The first day Katherine and I went we weren’t exactly sure on what Monaco had to offer. We knew it was extremely wealthy and high-end, and full of yachts. We also knew it had a really cool aquarium … Continue reading Monaco, Monaco

Hello Nice

Wednesday, June 6th, 2018. Katherine and I have now been in Nice, France since Saturday and we absolutely love it (except it’s pouring rain outside right now hence why I finally have the time and desire to write this post without feeling guilty about sitting on my computer). But before I catch you up on the adventures we’ve had since being back in France, I want to share about our last day in Italy, where we spent our day at the cutest most colourful island called Burano. Burano is a small island located about 9 km from Venice. The island … Continue reading Hello Nice

The Island of Glass

Friday, June 1st, 2018. “At its best, travel should challenge our preconceptions and most cherished views, cause us to rethink our assumptions, shake us a bit, make us broader minded and more understanding.” – Arthur Frommer Wanting to visit some islands outside of Venice, Ben, Marissa, Alegra, Katherine and I decided to visit Murano on Wednesday for a nice day trip. We took the train to Venice and from there caught the boat to the island. The boat ride is an adventure in itself. You never really know if you’re on the right one, when to get off, why the … Continue reading The Island of Glass

Getting Lost in Venice

Wednesday, May 30th, 2018 Yesterday I was bit hard by the travel bug all over again. Walking around and getting lost in the beautiful city of Venice until the sun went down, with a group of 4 amazing new people we met at the hostel is the reason I can’t picture myself sitting at home in a routine the rest of my life. Katherine and I arrived in Venice Monday afternoon, and it was luckily one of the easiest travel days we’ve had so far – we only got lost once! While we were still in Switzerland we actually cancelled … Continue reading Getting Lost in Venice

Day Trip to Geneva

Thursday, May 24th, 2018 Even though it rained all day, I was dripping wet by 11:00 am, and we sat on a train for a total of 6 hours, this cute city in Switzerland was still worth it. Katherine and I caught a train from Lucerne to Geneva at 7 am, and arrived 3 hours later. Because we only had the one day there we decided to be as touristic as possible and hit as many popular places we could. The first landmark of Geneva we visited was the huge water fountain, Jet d’Eau. It’s so big that you can … Continue reading Day Trip to Geneva

Lakes and Friends in Lucerne, Switzerland

Sunday, May 20th, 2018 I just want to start off this post by saying the biggest thank you to Sandy for letting us stay at her adorable apartment in Lucerne for free. We met Sandy in Ireland, and when she heard of our plans to visit Switzerland she graciously offered her home and Katherine and I are incredibly thankful! Lucerne is the cutest city ever. It’s very small, but reminds us tons of Heidelberg. It has a very beautiful lake and is surrounded by the gorgeous alps, and is home to a very old bridge that is a huge tourist … Continue reading Lakes and Friends in Lucerne, Switzerland
